Additional Steuben County Transportation Options

In addition to providing regular buses, Steuben County has several county-specific transportation services. See below for details and to check if you qualify for certain amenities.

 

Steuben Coordinated Transportation Volunteer Driver Program

This program allows volunteer drivers to provide non-emergency medical and/or food related transportation assistance to Steuben County residents who have no other means of transportation. The goal of the program is to connect people to transportation services for medically related visits and other necessities. Medical Answering Service

This medical travel opportunity is provided to Medicaid clients of all age groups. The program requires 1-2 weeks’ notice before upcoming appointments, and some restrictions apply. To contact, call 1-

CEATS Bus Routes

The CEATS buses (Corning-Erwin Area Transit System) run throughout the city of Corning with runs to Coopers Plains, Gang Mills, CCC, Gibson, and East Corning. All buses are handicap accessible. For more information, call 800-445-4423 or visit their site at http://www.rideceats.com.

 

Project Care

This project is sponsored by the Steuben County Office for the Aging (SCOFA). Project Care provides limited local transportation services to senior citizens within the Bath/Hammondsport area. Local transportation is available for medical appointments, shopping, and other approved needs. Recipients of help must be able to get into and out of the vehicle with minimal assistance. Faith in Action of the Greater Steuben Area

This program exists to assist the frail elderly with no other means of transportation. The services are offered door-through-door, and they are provided by volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles. The program also offers other non-hands-on caregiving assistance, such as light housekeeping, minor home repairs, and yard work. To contact, call 607-324-1138.

Steuben Area Rides (StAR)

Operated by The Arc of Steuben, Steuben Area Rides provides transportation services to and from Arc of Steuben programs, as well as contract transportation services to various other community sites. They also provide private, non-emergency medical transportation to various medical and healthcare facilities in the area. To contact, call 607-776-1229.
